Stone setting, will be one of the more technical aspects to production. The delicate nature of this process, along with the smaller components of the set, requires a precision often within a fractions of millimetre. Therefore, the finer touches are done under magnification. The initial key aspect is in the preparation of the stone seat. This will be formed through soldering, burring and manipulation of the metal to create a 'bed' for the stone to perfectly sit in. From here, the stone will be secured by a series of different setting styles; prong, bezel, pavè and several others. Metal will pushed over the stone and the setting will be finished to suit the design style.
